Grass stains stubborn, especially if clothes contain natural fibers like cotton, as many custom PE uniforms do. That’s because there’s more there than just grass. Do’s

Jerseys and other sports gear get a lot of wear and tear. You want to make sure that you practice extra care to maintain the quality of the fabric and printed designs. Whatever method you use for cleaning, be sure to:
Use cold water
Hang clothes to dry
Dab the stain with a clean, white cloth

Dont’s

There are things that we might typically do to remove stains that can make grass stains worse. Make sure to avoid:

• Put clothes in the dryer
• Rub at the stain
• Rush the process

Household Methods

There are multiple ways to get grass stains out of custom PE uniforms. Some of the most convenient hight be household items.

Rub banana oil gently over the stain and let it sit for five minutes before rinsing it. If this doesn’t work, combine 1 cup of warm water, 2 tablespoons of mild detergent, and 2 tablespoons of ammonia. Wash and make sure the stain is gone before using the dryer.

You can also use bleach with hydrogen peroxide, just be sure to test it beforehand as it can remove dyes. Mix 1/4 cup of peroxide, 1/4 cup of bleach, and 3/4 cup of water. Pour the mixture on the stain and rub gently. Let it sit for half an hour to an hour, then rinse it thoroughly. Be sure to wash it separately, since this mixture removes dyes.
Plain white vinegar is another option. Use only the plain white kind, not any fruit variety. Rub the stain with a mixture of vinegar and warm water until the stain is gone. Wash the custom PE Uniforms like you usually would, then remember to check for a stain before putting it in the dryer.

Commercial Products

Some commercial products also do an effective job of removing hard stains. Look for items like Tide Turbo Powder, OxiClean Max Force Laundry Stain Remover, Goo Gone Pro-Power Spray Gel, Shout Laundry Stain Remover, and Spray ’n Wash Pre-Treat Laundry Stain Remover.
